He asserted that the government should make public the report of Raja Zafarul Haq and expose the elements responsible for amending the declaration on electoral form regarding belief in the 'Finality of Prophethood'. Muslim and non-Muslim communities in Pakistan enjoy religious freedom. Efforts for the promotion of inter-sect harmony and interfaith dialogue are bringing good results in society and the world should not forget sacrifices of Pakistan in eliminating extremism and terrorism, Tahir Ashrafi said.
Ashrafi also announced that the 3rd International Message of Islam Conference will be held on 26th March 2018 in Islamabad that will be attended by notable leadership of Muslim world specifically the Supreme Qazi of Palestine. He also announced that in general elections of 2018, his party will take part and candidates from Islamabad and all over Pakistan will contest election on the tickets of PUC.
Leadership of Muslim schools of thought as well as representatives of non-Muslims have rejected the decision of the US administration for putting Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on watch list of religious freedom, he said. The US leadership is taking such steps to pressurize Pakistani leadership and Saudi Arabia to secure Ahmadis entrance in Harmain Al Sharefain, Ashrafi said and added that criticism on state institutions has become a trend nowadays which should be avoided.
The way some sections are hurling allegations at judiciary and military, this will have very serious consequences for the state of Pakistan in the long run. Responding to a query, Ashrafi stated that a meeting of action committee for Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat will be held in Lahore next week against reluctance and indifferent conduct of ruling elite not to make public report of Raja Zafarul Haq. The further course of action will be devised during the meeting, he added.
He also stated that any victimization on part of the government against religious organizations and religious leadership will not be tolerated. Leadership of Pakistan Ulema Council also condemned brutal killing of a minor girl Zainab in Qasoor and demanded of the government to bring the killers to justice on priority and without any delay. The government should also take action against police officials who resorted to straight fire on protesters in Kasur.
On the occasion office-bearers of Pakistan Ulema Council including Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri, Maulana Tahir Aqeel Awan, Maulana Hafeez ur Rehman, Maulana Shahzad Ahmed, Maulana Umar Sharif, Maulana Naib Khan, Maulana Inayatullah and Maulana Nauman Hashir were also present.
